Grave Robber’s Ball Kicks Off Season

Saturday night’s Grave Robber’s Ball kicked off the official opening of the haunt season at Spooky Hollow.

We had a surprisingly light turnout this year, possibly due to a misprint on the invitations. Some folks just weren’t interested in coming to the Grave Digger’s Ball, and are probably still waiting patiently by the mailbox for their invitation to the Grave Robber’s Ball. It’s understandible given that the names are the difference between “Party in the graveyard! Wooooooooo!” and “Local 447 Hole Digger meeting this Saturday. Bring covered dish“.

Nevertheless, we had fun. I must remind Mrs. Spookyblue, however, to never again allow a karaoke CD into the house that contains Over The Rainbow. It was like somebody turned on a fire hose. Never saw Halloween Hall empty out so fast. Gaaak.

The main gallery will get a proper update soon. There’s sort of a back log.

  1. That looks like fun, I wouldn’t have missed it! That is an excellent Palin costume also. Jesus looks like he had a good time, too!

  2. obviously you didn’t have the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes version of Over the Rainbow. :)

  3. The Pope and Jesus seem to be getting along well. That’s nice.

  4. Hee hee. Daiv has a good point. And I’m sooo glad that Jesus and El Papa are friends because I can’t even begin to contemplate the liturgical crisis if it were otherwise.

Grim, if I ever find out that you were in Indiana in October and you didn’t stop in at Snug Harbor for a cup of hemlock, I’ll send the Grumble to have a chat with the *other* Grim and you’ll get to have your head carried around in a bag. :)

By the way, did you ever get rid of those critters living under the porch?

  5. Sounds like fun. Wish we had a party here as well. People around here are kinda out of the Halloween mood this year. But I am still going to dig up some zombies and what ever else that might be dead and in the mood to have fun. Looking forward to more.

  6. They are still around… but I think they moved out from under the porch when monsters started showing up a couple of weeks ago. I’ve seen them in the yard across the street a couple of times since, but not in my yard. Might have to leave some monsters out year round!
