This year, the cloak-and-dagger routine worked so well that not even we knew what we were going to be until the last minute.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a great strategy for keeping secrets, but it makes for some late nights and frazzled nerves when you decide to pull off Godzilla Vs Mothra.  In just two weeks.<!-- more --><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/spookyblue.com\/spookyblog\/gallery-list\/godzilla-vs-mothra\/mothra-and-gozilla-make-up\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2259\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/spookyblog\/spblogpix\/2009\/11\/mothra-and-gozilla-make-up-200x200.jpg\" alt=\"Forces Joined\" title=\"Forces Joined\" width=\"180\" height=\"180\" align='right' hspace='5' vspace='0' border='0' \/><\/a>While a full-body suit was never seriously considered for &#8216;Zilla, green sweats and a (Gahh!) green jogging suit were both flatly rejected.  Nervous necessity eventually revealed the obvious answer, and we became Godzilla and Mothra &#8230;on vacation.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Spookyblue raided every craft store in town for moth wing material while I carved a <a class='linkgold' href=\"\/spookyblog\/alien-stonehenge\">reef of spines out of construction foam<\/a>.  The Panama hat, Mrs. S&#8217;s idea, was a nice touch.  That blue blur buzzing angrily around<a href=\"http:\/\/spookyblue.com\/spookyblog\/godzilla-vs-mothra\/godzilla-plans\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2269\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/spookyblog\/spblogpix\/2009\/11\/godzilla-plans-200x200.jpg\" alt=\"Godzilla Plans\" title=\"Godzilla Plans\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"imgleft\" \/><\/a> my head in some of the pictures (<a class='linkgold'  href=\"\/spookyblog\/gallery-list\">check the new gallery link<\/a>) is a carved F-86.  Mothra&#8217;s wings were an engineering miracle mixed with my wife&#8217;s mad sewing skillz.<\/p>\n<p>And on the night of the big reveal&#8230;  <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, he&#8217;s a dinosaur and she&#8217;s a butterfly, right?&#8221; .. &#8220;Gozzla?  What&#8217;s a Gozzla?&#8221; .. &#8220;Oh, yeah!  Moffra!  Hmm&#8230; that&#8217;s nice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nobody got it.
